She presented how Scooter’s Help Center is helping divert shelter intakes by giving the public a resource where they can call to get help with any cat concern or question.

OAR Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Scooter

Scooter the Neutered Cat™ stopped by OAR (Ohio Alleycat Resource) to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary on October 26. The open house hosted over 150 people and included a silent auction. OAR had a lot to celebrate, including the adoption of 1,260 cats and over 8,500 spay/neuter surgeries alone this year.

LFAW to Host Free Spay/Neuter Event on Dec. 4-8, 2023

The League For Animal Welfare is hosting a free spay/neuter event on December 4-8, 2023. Up to 250 spots are available for cats and dogs. To be eligible, you must be a resident of Clermont County, earn no more than $30,000/yr, or receive public assistance. To register a cat or dog, please call (513) 735-2299.

The Joanie Bernard Foundation Helps Fund Study on Nonsurgical Contraceptive for Cats

Scientists at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife made a breakthrough in finding a single dose of anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) gene therapy that can induce long-term contraception in female cats. The study, funded by the Joanie Bernard Foundation and the Michealson Found Animals Foundation, represents a major milestone in finding a way to humanely reduce free-roaming cats.

Scooter’s Spay-a-thon Expands into 17 Southeast Indiana Counties

Scooter’s Spay-a-thon has been on the road with “The Fix is IN!”, a partnership between Pet Friendly Services of Indiana and Public Vet. Since the program’s launch, the mobile clinic has spayed/neutered thousands of cats in Indiana’s most rural communities. The success of the program has led to the expansion from five to 17 Indiana counties, making it easier for residents to access affordable spay/neuter for both pet cats and community cats.

Scooter’s Help Center Featured on Good Day Dayton

Give Them Ten director and founder Deborah Cribbs and Scooter the Neutered Cat joined Good Day Dayton to talk about the recently launched Scooter’s Help Center and how the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton communities are responding to the 1-833-GIVE-TEN hotline they can call to get cat questions answered.

Scooter Supports Spay/Neuter Efforts in Michigan with Give Them Ten Movement Member Ingham County Animal Control

The Joanie Bernard Foundation and the Give Them Ten Movement, in partnership with Ingham County Animal Control, are addressing the cat population issue in Ingham County, Michigan. By launching free spay/neuter programs in the area, Ingham County Animal Control and Give Them Ten hope to tackle the root cause of the county’s large population of community cats, which currently number anywhere from 50,000 to 75,000.
