Total Feline Intake Total number of cats accepted into custody. Includes owner surrenders, strays, seized, adoption returns (if meeting your criteria to be a new intake,) SNR/RTF cats, and transfers in. Does not include animals entering the shelter you never assume legal custody of such as cats brought into a clinic for same-day services (TNR cats.)
Feline Intake Subtype: Owner Surrender Number of cats surrendered into your custody by their owner/s.
Feline Intake Subtype: Stray Number of cats accepted into custody under your definition of "Stray."
Kitten Intake Number of kittens admitted into custody 2 months of age (8 weeks) or younger. (If your software cannot track this, just leave blank.)
Adoptions Total number of cat adoptions you completed. Includes working cats or non-traditional adoptions.
Feline Transfers Out Total number of intaked cats your agency transferred to another organization.
Return to Field (RTF/SNR) Total number of intaked cats your agency accepted into custody, then returned to their outdoor homes. These are not TNR cats brought in for proactive s/n who your agency never intaked or assumed legal custody of. RTF cats were intaked, came in over the counter or through field services, and were then returned to their original location.
Return to Owner (RTO) Intaked cats who were reclaimed by their families.
Euthanasias Cats euthanized by your organization. Includes cats brought in for owner requested euthanasia.
Missing/Lost/Stolen Cats in your custody that have been outcomed as missing, lost, or stolen while in your care.
Died in Care (DIC) Intaked cats that passed away unassisted while in your care (not euthanized.) Includes cats who died unassisted in foster care or at any location while owned by your organization.
Spay and Neuter Surgeries Total number of cats your agency sterilized for any reason. Includes TNR cats, public cats, community cats, shelter cats - ALL cats. If your agency sent them to another nonprofit agency for surgery (OAR, UCAN) do not include those. Do include cats sent to private, for-profit vet clinics.
New Foster Animals Total number of new feline foster placements this month.
New Foster Homes Total number of new households that have begun to accept feline foster placements this month.
Feline Length of Stay (LOS) For all cats who were in custody, in any location, and who were outcomed this month. *This is optional if you cannot reasonably acquire this data. Calculation = The total number of days all cats outcomed this month spent in your care, divided by the number of cats outcomed this month. This formula uses the average number of days cats outcomed this month spent in your care. (Example: You outcomed 3 cats this month. Cat A spent 10 days in care. Cat B spent 2 days in care. Cat C spent 16 days in care. 10+2+16 = 28 total days / 3 outcomed cats = 9.3 days LOS.)
